Overview
It is quite convenient to travel to Turpan City. Urumqi Airport is linked with Turpan by a highway, which takes about 2 hours. The Turpan Railway station has opened routes to Urumqi, Korla, Beijing, Shanghai and other cities. The road condition in the city is also very good, and two national highways join here. How to get in Turpan
By Air
Turpan Jiaohe Airport is an airport serving the city of Turpan in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China.Turpan Jiaohe airport is located in the northwest Turpan city, 13 kilometers from Turpan city, with a distance of about 500 meters to North Railway Station. There are some flights from Beijing,Xian and other bit cities in China.

By Train
There are two railway stations in Turpan city: Turpan Station and Turpan North Station. You will arrive at Turpan North Station if you take the high speed train from other city to Turpan. There are many trains leaving, passing and reaching turpan daily. Train is the most popular way to go to turpan.

By Long-distance Bus
There are two bus stations in the city: Turpan Bus Station and Daheyan Bus Station. They offer the convenient traffic within Xinjiang. Everyday, there are over 140 buses taking 7,000 passengers to the big cities such as Urumqi, Shanshan, Kashgar, Hotan, Tuokexun and Aqsu. Turpan Bus Station is located on Old City Road.


How to get around Turpan
By City Bus
Turpan is a small city with eight bus lines in operation. No.1-7 & No.202. The bus ticket is 1 CNY per person for one way. Note: Normally, tourists no need to take bus in Turpan city except visiting the Sugong tower (No.1 & No.6).

By Taxi
Taxi is one of popular way the visitiors used in Turpan. Starting price 7 yuan for 3 km; The cumulative price is 1.4 yuan/km in the daytime and 1.6 yuan/km in nighttime(0:00-8:00). It will charge 1 km for every 3 minutes of waiting; One way carrying passengers beyond 7 km, the cumulative price is 50% per km.

Special Donkey Cart Ride
In some parts of Turpan, you can also choose to take the sepcial Donkey Cart, such as Tuyugou Valley and Gaochang Ancient City. It cost around 20 yuan per car.
