At the start of your day, our friendly Xi'an tour guide will meet you at the exit of Xi'an Train Station or in the lobby of your Xi'an hotel, holding a welcome sign reading "Your Way Holiday." With our dedicated guide and professional driver, you'll be seamlessly transported to your first destination. Your Half Day Tour of the Terracotta Warriors will begin with a comfortable drive, where your guide will share fascinating insights about the history and significance of this incredible site. Enjoy a hassle-free experience as our guide and driver ensure you make the most of your visit, offering personalized attention and expert knowledge to enhance your exploration of the Terracotta Army.
Step into the heart of the Terracotta Army at Pit 1, the largest and most iconic excavation site, where over 6,000 life-sized soldiers, horses, and chariots stand in perfect formation. As you walk through the massive underground vault, your guide will unfold the story of these warriors, explaining how they were created to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. You’ll discover how each soldier was individually sculpted with unique features—no two are alike, making this one of the most extraordinary archaeological finds in the world. The soldiers’ arrayed ranks, frozen in time, create an awe-inspiring atmosphere, and you’ll be amazed by the painstaking level of detail, from the soldiers' clothing to the intricate weapons they hold. Take your time to marvel at the craftsmanship and imagine the vast scale of the Emperor's vision for immortality, as your guide paints a vivid picture of ancient Chinese warfare and culture.
Next, head to Pit 3, a smaller yet equally captivating site that offers a more personal connection to the past. Here, you’ll find a unique collection of figures—warriors, officials, and horses—that are not as large as those in Pit 1 but carry just as much historical weight. The figures in Pit 3 appear to be in more relaxed, natural poses, as if they were captured in the midst of daily life. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the warriors’ roles within the military hierarchy and their specific duties. This pit was likely the command center, with high-ranking officers and strategic leaders overseeing the formation of the larger pits. Listen closely as your guide delves into the deeper meanings behind the figures' varied expressions and positions, and how these warriors reflected the organizational sophistication of the Qin Dynasty. You’ll leave with a new understanding of the human side of these ancient soldiers.
End your tour with Pit 2, an excavation site that offers a unique glimpse into the strategic military genius of the Qin Dynasty. This pit is a treasure trove of detailed terracotta soldiers arranged in perfect battle formations, offering insights into how Emperor Qin Shi Huang's army was structured for defense. Here, you’ll see soldiers, archers, and chariots, all poised to protect the emperor's tomb from any external threat. Your guide will explain how the formation of this pit is a microcosm of the larger defensive strategies employed by the Qin Dynasty, showcasing their advanced understanding of military tactics and their preparedness for the afterlife battle. Marvel at the craftsmanship of the soldiers, whose faces, expressions, and even the individual details of their armor tell stories of ancient warfare. This final stop will leave you with a deeper appreciation for the military prowess of the time and a greater understanding of the Terracotta Army’s historical significance.
After visiting the Terracotta Warriors, your guide will accompany you to the vibrant Muslim Quarter, a highlight of Xi'an's culinary and cultural scene. The Muslim Quarter, known for its rich history and diverse food offerings, is a bustling area where you can immerse yourself in the local atmosphere. Here, you'll wander through the lively streets lined with stalls and eateries, offering a delightful array of local snacks and traditional dishes. The area is renowned for its mouthwatering specialties such as lamb skewers, savory Chinese hamburgers, and fragrant cumin pancakes. As you explore, your guide will share insights into the unique blend of Islamic culture and local customs, making your visit both enjoyable and educational. Whether you're sampling street food or simply soaking in the lively ambiance, the Muslim Quarter provides a perfect conclusion to your Xi'an tour.
After your exploration of the Muslim Quarter, your private guide and driver will ensure a smooth return to your hotel in Xi'an or Xi'an train station. Your guide will be happy to provide any additional insights or answer any questions you may have about the day's experiences. Meanwhile, the driver will ensure a comfortable and efficient journey, allowing you to relax after your fascinating visit. If you need any further recommendations or assistance for the rest of your stay, feel free to ask your guide, who will be glad to help you make the most of your time in Xi'an.

If you're looking for a truly unique tour experience, you can't beat the Private Day Tour of Mount Huashan with Round-Trip Cable Car from Xi'an. Our guide, Tilla, was outstanding, providing us with an authentic taste of Xi'an through colorful details about its rich history and culture. The tour itself was worth every penny, especially the scenic bus ride to the mountain. Once we arrived at Huashan, we boarded a cable car that offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. The vistas were absolutely spectacular, and there were plenty of photo opportunities to capture the stunning scenery.
At the top, we were greeted with even more magnificent views and had the chance to do some hiking. Comfortable shoes are essential! We wore lightweight tennis shoes, and they were perfect for the terrain. Overall, this tour was an incredible experience, and the beauty of Mount Huashan will stay with us forever. Highly recommended for anyone looking to see some of China’s most awe-inspiring landscapes!
Our half-day tour of the Terracotta Warriors with Lulu was an unforgettable experience for our family of six! From the moment we first made contact with Your Way Holiday , the service was exceptional. Lulu was incredibly helpful, promptly returning our calls and messages, and assisting us with every detail. The day at the Terracotta Warriors exceeded all our expectations. Our guide, Julia, was not only extremely knowledgeable but also warm and engaging, making the experience even more enjoyable. She shared fascinating insights about the history and significance of the site, and her passion for the culture was evident throughout the tour. It was a truly memorable day, and we can't thank Julia and the team enough for making our visit so special! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Xi'an!
We had a fantastic half-day tour to the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an. Our guide, David, was incredibly friendly, exceptionally knowledgeable, and patient throughout the experience. His insights brought the history of the site to life, making our visit even more enjoyable. Additionally, our driver provided excellent service, and the vehicle was very clean and comfortable, ensuring a pleasant ride. All in all, everything was perfect. I highly recommend David if you travel to Xi'an for the Terracotta Warriors!
The tour was amazing! The organization was top-notch: we chose our pick-up and drop-off points based on our schedule, and even if we were 15 minutes late, it was no problem! Our guide, Wendy, was exceptional—she provided detailed explanations at the Terracotta Army and shared so many insights (especially since few panels are translated into English)! On the way there, she chatted with us, offering great suggestions and tips on local food. This tour is highly recommended and strongly endorsed! Thank you, Wendy, for making our stay in Xi'an such a memorable experience!
The Terracotta Warriors Museum is about an hour's drive from Xi’an. It can get quite crowded; even though our guide said it wasn’t too busy that day, I can only imagine how packed it must be during peak times. Visibility was tricky, but our guide helped us find the best spots for viewing. Taller visitors definitely had an easier time seeing everything! Despite the crowds, the museum is a must-see for its impressive man-made tombs and sculptures. If visiting independently, you can book tickets in advance through the official website or apps and use your passport to enter. For a more relaxed experience, consider hiring a guide, though be prepared for possible stops at shops and restaurants which you can choose to skip.
My guide Phoebe is pretty, knowledgeable and takes good care of us. The tour was fantastic, and seeing the Terracotta Warriors was a real highlight. Wow really enjoyed the experience. Next time in Xian, I hope you can include new spots like Huashan and Qianling in the tour!

They were incredibly thoughtful and patient with all our questions, making everything effortless and enjoyable.

The tour consultant was wonderful, always quick to respond to emails and questions, and they set up the most memorable trip for our Xian trip.
We were met at the train station by our tour guide Lisa and driver. So glad we didn't have to negotiate transport by our own at that tour. Lisa was excellent, excellent, excellent. She gave us a lot f important information about the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Musuem. She is very knowledgeable and she was always available and offering her assistance. Lisa went the extra mile and took us to wonderful sites and gave us the time to enjoy and learn.

It was the first time for me and my family to travel to Xian, China. We booked the tour for the Terracotta Warriors with Xian Private Tour. It was stunning. You are literally witnessing incredible history with these 2000 yr old statues. The condition of them is incredible. The history even more interesting, it helped a lot that our guide, Lisa, was very knowledgeable with history, providing so many interesting facts about the Terracotta Warriors. Our young girls were just as engrossed in the stories and artifacts as we were. Truly a visit not to be missed and a must see for everyone planning a visit to the ancient city of Xian.
I would highly recommend Xian Private Tour and Lisa to anyone visiting China for the first time and wouldn't hesitate to use the company again.
