Day 1 Xian-Dunhuang by Flight

Day 2 Dunhuang

Today, you will first visit the Dunhuang Museum. The Dunhuang museum contains the history of the city and a summary of the Ancient Silk Road. Located on East Yangguang Road in Dunhuang City. Founded in October 1979, formerly known as the archaeological team of the county cultural center. The building area is 2400 square meters. There are a large number of precious cultural relics in Dunhuang, and there are more than 13000 cultural relics in the museum.The museum is divided into four exhibition halls. The first hall mainly shows the history of Dunhuang in Han Dynasty. Second hall mainly shows the cultural relics. The third and forth hall mainly shows the real objects such as silk, brocade, and muslin are exhibited, providing sufficient evidence for Silk Road. You can visit these halls one by one to know the history of Dunhuang from prehistoric times to the Qing Dynasty.

After lunch, pay a visit to the Mingsha Mountain (Crescent Lake), People say that if you want to experience how the caravans of the ancient Silk Road trade, you must go to Mingsha mountain. Mingsha mountain makes a sound when it is sunny or someone is sliding down from the mountain, so it is called Mingsha mountain. There is also a strange phenomenon here. Because of the terrain, when the wind blows, the sand does not go down the mountain, but flows from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain, so Crescent Lake will never be buried by the sand, which is called a desert wonder. Riding a camel through the desert is very popular.
