History of Kashgar Sundat Market
As early as two thousand years ago, the location of the market was the collection and distribution center of goods along the Silk Road. Today, it is even busier. The bazaar is open every day, but is only busy on Sundays. By riding donkeys or driving carts, farmers from surrounding areas hurry to the bazaar early in the morning. You can experience the prosperity there cheerful laughter and brisk scenery of buying and selling. It appears like nothing has changed after all the centuries.

All the specialties, handicrafts, daily necessities, fruits and vegetables, and livestock of Kashgar or Xinjiang can be found in the Sunday Bazaar. Besides local commodities, there are imported products from bordering countries sold there, such as handcrafts from Pakistan, scarves from Turkey, telescopes from Kyrghizstan, dry fruits from Saudi Arabia, among others.
