Day 3 Xian to Mt. Huashan Day Tour Itinerary

In the early morning, our knowledgeable tour guide will greet you in your hotel lobby before taking you on a scenic 2-hour drive to Mt. Huashan. This journey sets the stage for an exhilarating day of exploration on one of China’s Five Great Mountains, known for its dramatic landscapes and challenging trails.

Mt. Huashan is famed for its five distinct peaks: Cloud Terrace Peak (North Peak, 1613m), Jade Maiden Peak (Middle Peak, 2042m), Sunrise Peak (East Peak, 2100m), Lotus Peak (West Peak, 2038m), and Landing Wild Goose Peak (South Peak, 2160m). Our adventure begins at Cloud Terrace Peak. You can opt for the traditional hiking route through Huashan Yu (Huashan Gorge), starting from Yuquanyuan Temple at the west gate, or take the Huangpu Yu (Huangpu Gorge) trail from the east gate, where a cable car offers a swift ascent. Your guide will accompany you along the trails, providing expert commentary and ensuring your safety as you enjoy the stunning views from Cloud Terrace Peak.

The most popular route is the traditional path through Huashan Yu (Huashan Gorge), starting from Yuquanyuan Temple at the west gate. Alternatively, the second trail begins at the Huashan East Gate, taking you through Huangpu Yu (Huangpu Gorge). A cable car over the Huangpu Yu trail offers a quick ascent, taking about 6 minutes to reach Cloud Terrace Peak. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to the platform, where you’ll be greeted with stunning views of Lotus Peak and Sunrise Peak in the backdrop.
