Overview
Kashgar is located at the foot of the Tian Shan mountain range, about 1,290m above sea level. Kashgar is belong to the continental arid climate with the distinctive four seasons. A short spring & Autumn, a long winter but warm, a long summer but with a cool weather. Here has a pleasant temperatures all year around. The average temperature is 11°C. Kashgar has a very dry weather with annual precipitation only 121 millimeters and average annual precipitation of 50mm. January is the coldest month and July is the hottest month witha average temperature 27°C. The weather in Kashagr is different from some other cities in Xijiang.

Seasonal Variations & Best Travel Time
The best time to travel to Kashgar is Autumn which from August to October, it is the harverst season in Kashgar with a pleasant temperature. So most travelers choose to tour Kashgar in this period. Tourists can not only see the most fascinating natural beauty of the place, but also taste the freshest fruits like grapes and melons.

Spring
Kashagr has a short spring which from April to May. The weather is bright and comfortable. But spring is the sandstorm season in the northwest of China. If you travel to Kashgar or other cities in Xinjiang, please prepare some masks in advance. The temperature is not low during this period, you can wear jacket and sweater during spring time. Spring is fairly slow for tourism, which makes it a good time for those looking for deals.
 
Summer
Kashgar has long summer but not to hot, the average temperature during summertime is 27oC which is very comfortable. The summer period is from June to August. Since the Kashagr is located on the foot of the Tianshan Mountain Range, the temperature will be different from daytime and nighttime, you can wear T-shirt and pants at daytime, a sweater or coat for nighttime. If you travel during the summer, sunglasses and sunhats are needed.Sunscreen can also be prepared.June – August is the second busiest season for tourism in Kashgar, so lodging and other accommodations may cost slightly more.
 
Autumn
Autumn is the best season (September to October) to travel to Kashagr since the temperature is most suitable to travel around the Kashgar. At this time, it's the harverst season here. You will see the different scenery in Kashgar if you travel during Autumn. You can sportswear and thin sweater during the daytime and windbreaker for the night.Tourism is the busiest during these months due to the weather, so hotels may be higher priced.

Winter
Generally, the winter in Kashgar is not too cold, sometimes the temperature goes below zero at night. If you are planing travel to Kashagr, you should prepare downcoat and some warm sweater in advance.These times of year are the slowest with tourists.
