Regular Train between Xian & Kaifeng
There are over 10 pairs of regular trains between Kaifeng & Xian daily, the jounery takes around 7 hours to 10 hours. Information about Xian & Zhengzhou Train Stations
Xian North Train Station
It is located in the Yuansuo Road, Weiyang District, Xian City, about 20KM from Xian downtown. It is the only high speed railway station in Xian. It is also one of the largest railway stations in China which covers an area of 533,000 square meters. Since Xian is located in central China, Xian North Railway Station always acts as the most important transportation hubs of high speed rail network.
Xian Train Station
It is located on the No. 44 Huancheng North Road, Xincheng Distric, which is located in the Xian city center. Xian Railway Station is an old railway station with a history of over 80 years. It has a Tang’s style architecture with glazed tile roof and yellow glazed walls. At present, Xian Railway Station only operates normal trains (like K-trains, Z-trains and T-trains) to other cities.
Kaifeng North Train Station
It is located on the Fourth Street of New District, Kaifeng City. Kaifeng North Railway Station started construction in December 2012, and it was put into use on September 10, 2016. Covers an area of 11992 square meters. You can take city bus No.16,35,47,53,52 to reach Kaifeng north train station from Kaifeng downtown.
Kaifeng Train Station
It is located on the No.1, Zhongshan Road, Yuwangtai District, Kaifeng, Henan; The train station is situated in southern downtown of Kaifeng with a convenient location. You can take bus No.1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10 and so on to reach the railway station. The "K", "Z" trains are departure from Kaifeng train station, it's the old station & city landmark of Kaifeng.
How to Book Train Tickets in China
There
are a couple of different ways to book your China train tickets, if you
are plan to travel around China by train during the holidays, such as
Labor Day, National Holiday, Chinese New Year... you'd better book the
train tickets in advance.
1) Book train tickets online on your own,
you can buy China train tickets online with www.trip.com or www.12306.cn
(it's the official webiste for China train tickets but only in
Chinese); You can use your credit card to pay on trip.com, the tikcets
are available to purchase up to 60 days in advance and at least 35
minutes before the train’s departure. For train ticket pickup, go to any
railway station or authorized ticket office in Mainland China with your
ticket pickup number along with the ID or Passport that you used for
booking.
2) Buy train tickets at train station, the ticket
windows at Chinese train stations are open 24 hours a day. There will be
an International Service Window at train station. The self-service
machines that you see next to train station ticket windows can only be
used with Mainland China ID cards. When you tell the staff where you
want to go and at what time, you will be shown available trains and
departure times on the screen. Choose the best ticket for your trip,
hand over your valid ID and payment, and the tickets will be printed for
you.
3) Ask for your hotel staff or tour company in China to help you to book the train tickets in advance.
How to Take Train in China
1) Get your Train Ticket
Collect
your train tickets before you get into the train station. You can pick
up your ticket with your passport & book numbing from the ticket
office at the train station if you book the ticket online or with the
booking agent. (some company will delivery the ticket to your hotel in
advance); If you did not buy the ticket in advance, you should go to the
train station to buy the ticket on spot.
2) Find the Main Entrance
Be
sure you are going to the right train station since there several train
stations in some big cities. Get to the train station at least 45
minutes in advance for your boarding. If you are taking a train during a
busy travel season, you may want to arrive even earlier, such as
National Holiday, Spring Festival holiday.
3) Go through security
You
are required to go through the security check before you go inside the
train station, you need to line up, show your paper train ticket,
passport. After check all the details, put your carry-on luggage in the
security area.
4) Find your Check Gate & Platform
Find
the right ticket check gate & platform based on your ticket
information or the big screen in the station, there should be several
electronic screens displaying the times of arrival, departure,
locations, and other information. Use the train number on your ticket
(such as Gxxx) to find the platform your train will depart from. When
you find your check gate, you can wait near area for your train. The
gate will open 15 minutes before your departure time.
5) Boarding the Train
When
the gate is open for your train, you should line up with your luggage.
You cannot check luggage, so make sure you have everything. Show your
ticket to the attendant so they will let you pass. Next, follow signs to
your platform, to find your train cabin & seat number. Put your
luggage & enjoy your comfortable train journey.
