How to get in Kaifeng
By Air
If you are planning to get to visit Kaifeng by flight you should fly to Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province since there is no airport in Kaifeng. The nearest airport is in Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport (CGO), there are many flight from other part of China to Zhengzhou, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou and more. You can take the city taxi to Kaifeng once you arrive in Zhengzhou airport, or take shuttle bus from airport directly. Taking high speed train to Kaifeng from Zhengzhou is also recommended if you fly into Henan province.


By Train
There are two mian train stations in Kaifeng, Kaifeng train station & Kaifeng north train station. High speed trains, normal trains & overnight trains are available from/to Kaifeng, the regular trains depart from Kaifeng train station to other part of China, such as Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Xi'an, Xuzhou, Shangqiu, etc; Kaifeng North Railway Station mainly operates high-speed trains to Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou,  etc.

Kaifeng North Train Station
It is located on the Fourth Street of New District, Kaifeng City. Kaifeng North Railway Station started construction in December 2012, and it was put into use on September 10, 2016. Covers an area of 11992 square meters. You can take city bus No.16,35,47,53,52 to reach Kaifeng north train station from Kaifeng downtown.

Kaifeng Train Station
It is located on the No.1, Zhongshan Road, Yuwangtai District, Kaifeng, Henan; The train station is situated in southern downtown of Kaifeng with a convenient location. You can take bus No.1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10 and so on to reach the railway station. The "K", "Z" trains are departure from Kaifeng train station, it's the old station & city landmark of Kaifeng.


By Long-distance Bus
There are buses to Kaifeng from other places in Henan, including from Zhengzhou Long-Distrance Bus Station and Luoyang Long Distance Bus Station. Kaifeng Transportation by Long-distance Bus mainly introduces major long-distance bus stations in Kaifeng, and main long-distance bus schedule. Long-distance bus travel is a common alternative in Kaifeng in addition to trains since there is no airport. Road traffic in Kaifeng is very developed, with expressways from Kaifeng to Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Sanmenxia and Shangqiu. What’s more, National Highway 106 (Beijing-Guangzhou) runs through Kaifeng from north to south. National Highway 310 (Tianshui-Lianyungang) and National Highway 220 (Kaifeng Lankao-Binzhou) meet in Kaifeng.  


How to Get around Kaifeng
By Taxi
Taxi is one of the most popular transportation in Kaifeng city, they are the most efficient and convenient transport with a cheap price. The basic taxi fee is 5 RMB within 3 kilometers. Then, it is 1 CNY for each additional kilometer. The taxi fee for scenic spots within Kaifeng City is not more than 15 CNY. Please kindly make sure that you are take the legal taxi and use the meter is on when you take a taxi.

By Public Bus
There are over 45 bus lines are available in Kaifeng city, with more than 300 vehicles operating, it is very convenient to reach various tourist attractions in and around the city. Passengers need to insert 1 RMB into the fareboxes near the drivers when getting on a bus.

By Rickshaw
Try the rickshaw is one of interesting way to go around Kaifeng city, essentially a tuktuk or motorised rickshaw. 6 RMB will take you from the train station to Henan University's old campus, essentially the length of the city. Short trips should be two or three yuan.
