Turpan Nightlife

Overview
It's quite fun experience the nightlife in Turpan. Once the sun sets and the temperature starts to fall in Turpan, which during the summer can be pretty late (9-10pm Beijing time), the Turpan night time comes alive. The temperature is big different between daytime and night, the cool of the evening provides the perfect excuse for family and friends to gather outside, chat about the day and eat a late dinner.

Recommended Night Activities in Turpan
1) Tasting food at Local Food Market
Taking your time eating Uyghur kebabs, noodles, Uyghur bread and a nice cold drink at the food street, there’s something about the atmosphere – the sound of all the people, the smoke from the grill, the children running around – that makes this such a special experience.

2) Spend a leisure time at Turan Toursit Cultural Square
This multi-functional square is an ideal place for visitors to relax and enjoy the beautiful night-time atmosphere of the city. As the night falls, colorful neon lights are lit and these enhance the beauty of the surrounding buildings. In the middle of the square, there is a big fountain whose water spouts rhythmically with the music.

3) Enjoy the Uygur Singing and Dancing Show
The Uygur people are known for their singing and dancing. Visitors can see a Uygur Singing and Dancing Show in nearly all of the star-level hotels. Even some small hostels have these kinds of shows. The Grape Valley is also an ideal venue to enjoy a show. During the Grape Festival the show can be seen in every corner of the city.

4)  Bars & Clubs
If you are looking for the Bars & Clubs in Turpan, you should go to Jiefang South Road since there are number of pubs, cafes and clubs for those seeking nightlife along Western-style and modern Chinese lines. Teahouses are better places to find a more authentic local scene.

5) Shopping at Turpan Night Market
Come dusk, dozens of stalls set up shop by the fountains to the west of the main central square. You can find some local handcrafits and products here. This is a wonderfully atmospheric and deeply Uyghur experience.
