Overview
Turpan is a marvelous city blending Western and Eastern religions and culture together perfectly and it is an important city on the ancient silk road. Turpan has abundant travel resources of both nature and culture, which makes Turpan one of the most popular destinations in Xinjiang. It also known as "Land of Fruits", especially grapes. The most famous & important festivals in Turpan is Grape Festival every year and it also attracts number of visitor come to visit Turpan city. Turpan Grape Festival
The festival is held in Turpan in the late August when the harvest time. During the festival, visitors can enjoy and degust various Xinjiang gourmet food, such as camel meat, roast gamecock, beef and mutton. Besides, people can also appreciate and participate in a variety of customary activities, such as the exhibition of over one hundred kinds of grapes, the assessment of grapes, free sampling of grapes, grapes auction and grape-eating games. The Grape Festival, which is perceived as a grand ethnic festival by the residents of various minorities in Xinjiang.

Qurban Festival
The Qurban Festival is a major Islamic festival that shows believers' faith and obedience to Allah.It is an annual major traditional festival falls on the 10th of the twelfth month of Islamic Calendar and is celebrated by the Chinese minority Groups.

Apricot Blossom Festival
Apricot Blossom Festival is held in the Toksun in west of Turpan Basin,featuring a variety of activities, such as a folk costume show, sheep-racing games and rock exhibition. When the temperature is getting higher,the region is gradually being blanketed with pure white apricot blossoms that create a unique landscape. The festival will start from mid of March to the end of April.The event has helped promote local tourism and create new sources of income for villagers. It was once an important stop along the ancient Silk Road. It is one of the earliest apricot blossom spots in Xinjiang.
