Brief Introdution
Pucheng County Qin Great Wall Site, also known as the Warring States Qin Great Wall Site, Qindong Great Wall, located in Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. The Great Wall in Pucheng County site built in the Warring States Qin Jian Gong period, Pucheng County in the North West of the township, south by the East Chenzhuang, Pinglu Temple to the town of Jun, about 50 km in length. At that time, Qin built the Great Wall to strengthen defense and safeguard domestic reform. It was the earliest Great Wall in the Warring States Period, and it was also an important Great Wall among several Great Wall in Qin.
Construction of Great Wall
The Qin Empire covered a very large geographical area. It stretched all the way south to what is now known as Vietnam and Korea, but the main kingdom remained in the Yellow River Valley. The Great Wall of China is one of the symbols of ancient China and Qin Inventions. During the Warring States period, the seven rival dynasties made fortifications to protect their territories by building walls. The First Emperor decided to restore and connect the separate sections of the Great Wall which was started as far back as the 3rd century to ward off invaders from the north. Building the great wall came with a huge financial burden and cost a lot of human lives. The people of China harbored a great deal of resentment towards the Qin emperor due to the loss of human lives. They were also burdened with high taxes and numerous public projects.
Historical Value of Great Wall
The Qin Great Wall has great scientific research value. It existed as a war defense fortification in ancient Chinese history; it was an important experience in building the Great Wall because of the terrain; in addition, as a scientific and effective military defense project, the Great Wall of Qin not only defended the neighboring countries, but also became a barrier against the invasion of the Huns and ethnic minorities in the later period. The Great Wall is built with mountains and rivers as a barrier. The commanding heights of the Great Wall are equipped with beacon towers, which burn smoke during the day, lift fires at night, and transmit information quickly. The more complete military defense system also provides a model for future military defense projects. It showed people's high intelligence and scientific and cultural level at that time.
The Great Wall, a carrier for tens of millions of people to imagine, a long historical trace, is the symbol of the great spirit of the Chinese nation, but also the concentrated embodiment of the charm of Chinese culture. "The Great Wall, He Lian Lian, repeatedly three thousand li" is yesterday the Great Wall, has gone forever. Today, faced with the ruins of the the Great Wall, we should protect or repair it. Can not let the wisdom of our ancestors die.
What We Can See Now in Xi'an
Pucheng section of the Great Wall
Pucheng section of the Great Wall site is located in the northeast of Jincheng Village Luohe River, the highest source of the right bank, the ruins of the East-West direction, about 400 meters long, rammed city wall site, the base of the use of natural terrain.
Another located on the south side of a gully located in the north of Jincheng village, its ramming layer is clear and pure. In these sites, a large number of Warring States period rope tile, moire tile, living utensils pottery and pottery trough remains were found. The remaining city walls are mostly rammed on the underlying floor, relying on natural river trench, and used natural river banks to cut into cities. Materials are taken locally, and the upper part is reinforced by the original long beam terrain. It is the perfect combination of man and nature, so it is also known as the "Luo Luo" the Great Wall. The beacons on the site of the Great Wall include the single beacon and the city beacon. The remaining beacons are 4-6 meters high and huge in size. The residual area of the beacon top is 20-30 square meters, indicating that there were tile-covered buildings at the beginning of the building.
Why was Great Wall Built in China
Emperors wanted to protect their border. The effort was costly in materials and manpower. It is said that over 1 million persons died in its construction. The walls had to be kept well-gaurded at the expense of the emperor. Another reason for the wall became the use of it as a barrier when a battle was fought at the border. Therefore, more than one motive caused the building of the wall. Since it was used to prevent northern bandit tribes from crossing the border, it was a border point for the emperor's soldiers to gather and defend. It was also a barrier during battle skirmishes! Thus, the Great Wall of China was built and maintained through the centuries and is an admired landmark in our world today.
The Lenth of Great Wall in China
The Great Wall of China is much longer than what has been commonly accepted as fact. The length of the wall was previously thought to be 8850 kilometers or 5500 miles. The actual length, however, is 21,196.18 kilometers, it about 13170 miles.
